VERSATHANE POLYURETHANE ENAMEL

  • Premium quality tough low sheen polyurethane enamel for use on interior and exterior surfaces.
  • Ideal for use on suitably primed plastered walls, wood and metal surfaces.
  • The perfect product for bathroom walls and ceilings requiring a low sheen finish.
  • Ideal for use on high traffic areas or surfaces that may require frequent washing.
  • Ideal for painting doors, windows, cupboards and skirtings.
  • Easy to keep clean.
  • Very tough and hardwearing.
  • Lead free.
  • Excellent exterior durability.
  • Good color stability.
  • Very good opacity, stain resistance and wash ability.
  • Smooth low sheen finish for the interior.
  • Excellent brush application sag resistant.
  • Type: Polyurethane Alkyd.
  • Appearance: Low Sheen.
  • Colors: White, black and a range of colors. Pastel, Medium and Deep tone colors can be tinted on request.
  • Solids: 61% by mass and 43% by volume.
  • Density: 1.22.
  • Recommended Dry Film Thickness: Minimum 25 µm and maximum 35µm.
  • Specific Gravity: 1.22.
  • Flash Point: Flammable at 34ºC.
  •  
  • Mixing: Do not stir or thin as this will break down de gel structure.
  • Method: Short nap mohair roller or brush.
  • Thinning: Do not thin.
  • Clean up: Mineral Turpentine.
  • Spreading rate: 9 m ²/l depending on surface porosity and profile.
  • Conditions: Avoid painting in wet or cold weather. Minimum temp 8º C
  • Drying time: Touch dry 1 hour. Hard dry 8 hours at 25 degrees.
  • Requirements: 2 coats.

New Surfaces must be sound, clean and dry before painting.

  • Cement: Prime with 1 coat Versus Plaster Primer followed with 2 coats of Versus Versathane Polyurethane Enamel.
  • Wooden surfaces: Apply Versus Pink Wood Primer followed with Versus Universal Undercoat prior to the application of 2 coats Versus Versathane Polyurethane Enamel.
  • Rusted Metals should be wire brushed or sanded to remove all rust. Prime with Versus Steel Primer. Thereafter apply 2 coats of Versus Versathane Polyurethane enamel.
  • PVC gutters and downpipes should be degreased and then abraded with fine sandpaper. Apply the topcoats.

Previously Painted Surfaces must be sound, clean and dry before painting.

  • After all surfaces are sound, clean and dry apply one coat of Versus Universal Undercoat as a tie coat. Other areas that have chalked and are powdery should be well sanded and sealed with Versus Plaster Primer before applying 2 coats of Versus Versathane Polyurethane Enamel.

 

  • Keep containers properly sealed.
  • Store away from direct heat, sun and severe cold.

EGGSHELL ENAMEL

  • A top of the range durable interior solvent based paint with an eggshell finish for high traffic areas.
  • Suitable for cement plaster, gypsum plaster, concrete, fiber cement, PVC, galvanized iron, ferrous and wooden surfaces.
  • Finish for doors, frames, skirting and other trims.
  • Ideal for bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Final coat for primed interior cement plaster, hardboard, wood and metal.
  • Superb appearance. Does not highlight the imperfections.
  • Ideal for kitchens and bathrooms, passages where cleaning is done often.
  • Excellent flow and leveling.
  • Easy application
  • Type: Medium Oil Alkyd.
  • Appearance: Eggshell.(Semi-Gloss)
  • Colors: White and standard colors. Other pastel and medium tones can be tinted on request.
  • Solids:  60-62% by mass.
  • Density: 1.4- – 1.42 kg/l.
  • Dry Film Thickness: Minimum 25 µ and maximum 30 µ.
  • Viscosity at 25ºC.: 70-75 Krebs µ.
  • Flash Point: Non-flammable.
  • Mixing: Stir well before use.
  • Method: Short nap mohair roller or brush.
  • Thinning: Mineral Turpentine. Thinning not recommended except for application with spray.
  • Clean up: Mineral Turpentine.
  • Spreading rate: 8 – 10 m ²/l depending on surface porosity and profile.
  • Conditions:  Avoid painting in wet or cold weather. Minimum temp 8º C
  • Drying time: Touch dry 4 hours. Hard dry 18 hours at 25 degrees.
  • Recoating time: 18 hours.
  • Requirements: 2 coats

  • Previously painted Surfaces must be sound, clean and dry before painting.
    • Loose flaking paint must be removed and bare areas should be spot primed with an appropriate primer before applying Versus Universal Undercoat and to finish with Versus Eggshell Enamel.

GLOSS ENAMEL

  • Ideal for use on high traffic areas or surfaces that may require frequent washing.
  • Very tough and hardwearing.

  • Good color stability.

  • Wooden surfaces should be primed with Versus Pink Wood primer and followed with Versus Universal Undercoat.
  • Galvanized Iron should be cleaned first with Versus Galvanized Iron Cleaner until a water break free surface has been achieved. Thereafter prime with Versus Galvanized Iron Primer and followed with Versus Universal Undercoat.
  • Rusted Metals should be wire brushed or sanded to remove all rust. Prime with Versus Steel Primer. Thereafter apply Versus Universal Undercoat.
  • PVC gutters and downpipes should be degreased and then abraded with fine sandpaper. Apply the topcoat.
  • Previously Painted Surfaces must be sound, clean and dry before painting.

After all surfaces are sound, clean and dry apply one coat of Versus             Universal Undercoat as a tie coat. Other areas that have chalked and are powdery should be well sanded and sealed with Versus Plaster Primer.

    DFT/Coat: MIN 20UM. Max 30UM

    Colours: Available in white, Pastel, Medium and Dark Tones can be tinted on

    request.

    Drying Time: Surface dry 4 hours, Hard Dry 18 hours at 25°ͨ.

    Viscosity: 65-70ku

    Specific Gravity:1.08-1.2

    Spreading Rate: 8-10m²/l (Typical) depending on surface porosity and texture.

    Solids: 64-66% by mass

    Finish: Matt

    Clean Up: Mineral Turps

  • New work should be correctly primed and undercoated with Versus Universal Undercoat as recommended by the manufacturers prior to applying the top coating.
  • May be applied directly onto cleaned previously painted surfaces.

  • Keep container properly sealed after use.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight, heat and sever cold.
